7 exiled Belarusian media sites hit by DDoS attacks
Websites of at least six exiled Belarusian news outlets and one journalists’ association have been targeted since March by distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, which aim to overwhelm websites with floods of internet traffic.

Journalist Dzianis Ivashyn, who is serving a 13-year prison sentence, had spent the previous three years in the high-security prison in Zhodzina. The name of Aleh Khamenka, sentenced to 3 years imprisonment and a substantial fine, appeared on May 29, 2026, on the Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs website in the list of persons “involved in extremist activities.” The site also notes that the cultural figure is “serving his sentence.”
