BAJ deputy chairman’s home searched in Belarus
On May 17, law enforcement officers conducted a search of the apartment in which Barys Haretski, deputy chairman of the Belarusian Association of Journalists, is registered in Minsk. A criminal case has been opened against him, but the reason for this is not yet known.
CPJ urges Serbia to release Andrei Hniot and provide him with medical care
The Committee to Protect Journalists issued a statement calling on the Serbian authorities to immediately release Belarusian Andrei Hniot and not to extradite him to Belarus.

On World Press Freedom Day, the Belarusian Association of Journalists and the Lithuanian Union of Journalists held a symbolic action for the release of Belarusian political prisoners of the media. The solidarity action took place in Lukiškės Prison in Vilnius.
