  • Chair of BAJ Included into Supervisory Council of CEC

The Central Electoral Commission decided to include Andrei Bastunets into the Supervisory Council tackling media issues concerning agitation before the parliamentary elections.

BAJ Applies to Take Part in the Supervisory Council on the Media of CEC during Parliamentary Elections

Lidziya Yarmoshyna, the head of CEC, remarked that Andrei Bastunets is polite, constructive and able to work in team. “I think his opinion will be different from opinions of other members of the Council, and it will help take quality decisions while resolving arguments during the pre-electoral agitation,” she said.

Mikalay Lazavik, the secretary of CEC, reminded that at the previous presidential election, BAJ had also made analogical application. The application was dismissed then as that Council team of state media representatives “refused categorically to work with representatives of the opposition journalist organization.”

Lidziya Yarmoshyna underlined that decisions of the Council bear advisory character.
