Collection for palliative care for journalist Vadim Dovnar

A few months ago we did a med­ical fundrais­er for a liv­er trans­plant for jour­nal­ist Vadim Dov­nar and raised about €6000. This mon­ey was used for the treat­ment, but unfor­tu­nate­ly it did not yield the expect­ed results.

Vadim Dov­nar

Vadim Dov­nar is an out­stand­ing Belaru­sian jour­nal­ist who devot­ed his life to cov­er­ing impor­tant events. Vadim has worked for the Belaruss­ian Busi­ness News­pa­per, Belorusskaya Gaze­ta, Radio Racy­ja, the Ukrain­ian TV chan­nel ATR and par­tic­i­pat­ed in the block­ade of Crimea in Chon­gar. Recent­ly, he admin­is­tered Niko­lai Autukhovich’s Telegram chan­nel “Da Voli”.

We sin­cere­ly thank every­one who sup­port­ed Vadim in the last gath­er­ing.

How­ev­er, the sit­u­a­tion became more com­pli­cat­ed. Dur­ing the prepa­ra­tion for the trans­plan­ta­tion, cir­cum­stances that do not allow to per­form the oper­a­tion became clear. It was post­poned indef­i­nite­ly, and we real­ize that Vadim may not live to see the new oper­a­tion. We also believe that every per­son has the right to a decent life, even when there is lit­tle to depend on.

We are open­ing a new col­lec­tion to pro­vide Vadim with pal­lia­tive care. Your dona­tions will help to pay for the nec­es­sary med­ical equip­ment, med­i­cines and med­ical staff that Vadim will need dur­ing this dif­fi­cult peri­od.
