Five journalists detained in Belarus on Sunday, September 27

In Min­sk, at the begin­ning of the protest march,  the police stopped jour­nal­ists cov­er­ing the protest to write down their per­son­al data. They claimed that was their way to «reg­is­ter jour­nal­ists,» sup­pos­ed­ly for their own safe­ty. The police warned that if the jour­nal­ists get in their way, they would be held liable under Arti­cle 23.4 of the Admin­is­tra­tive Code (dis­obe­di­ence to a law­ful request of an offi­cial). 

In Hrod­na the police detained chief edi­tor of Newgrodno.by Ihar Remzik. He was tak­en to Kas­trych­nit­s­ki police depart­ment.

TUT.BY jour­nal­ists Vol­ha Kami­ahi­na and Kat­siary­na Hardzeye­va were also detained, but released lat­er.

In Mahil­iou, jour­nal­ist Uladz­imir Lapt­se­vich was detained near Atri­um shop­ping cen­ter.   

In Min­sk, spektr.by cam­era­man Artur Pahasian was detained.

The jour­nal­ists who were detained on Sep­tem­ber 26 in Min­sk: Anas­ta­sia Alshan­skaya (MBK Media), Maria Hryts (has a baby) and Ale­na Dounarare still held at Akrestsi­na deten­tion cen­ter. They can be held for 72 hours before tri­al.
