Journalist Larysa Shchyrakova charged with discrediting Belarus

A criminal case was filed against former journalist Larysa Shchyrakova for allegedly discrediting Belarus (Article 369-1 of the Criminal Code), RFE/RL Belarus reports.
The journalist was detained on December 6. Shchyrakova’s minor son was placed in an orphanage.
In July 2021, the police searched her home, while she was interrogated by the officers of the Main Directorate of Organized Crime Control.
