Mr. Karliukevich didn’t specify the scope of the planned amendments to the Mass Media law at that.

The Minister promised to invite the Belarusian Association of Journalists to take part in the discussion of proposals of legal changes to be introduced into the Belarus law ‘On Mass Media’. Among other, it was emphasized that the government would take into consideration the presented ideas of legal changes.

It is worth mentioning that according to the BAJ monitoring results, the Belarusian freelance journalists were fined 69 times for cooperation with foreign mass media in 2017. The total sum of fines amounted to EUR 24 235 in equivalent.
