The Minister of Information Karliukevich Promised to Invite BAJ to Discuss Amendments to Mass Media Law

The Min­is­ter promised to invite the Belaru­sian Asso­ci­a­tion of Jour­nal­ists to take part in the dis­cus­sion of pro­pos­als of legal changes to be intro­duced into the Belarus law ‘On Mass Media’. Among oth­er, it was empha­sized that the gov­ern­ment would take into con­sid­er­a­tion the pre­sent­ed ideas of legal changes.

It is worth men­tion­ing that accord­ing to the BAJ mon­i­tor­ing results, the Belaru­sian free­lance jour­nal­ists were fined 69 times for coop­er­a­tion with for­eign mass media in 2017. The total sum of fines amount­ed to EUR 24 235 in equiv­a­lent.
