“Things have gone crazy these past few days! My family was told they’ve opened a new criminal case against me. Supposedly for ‘extremist’ posts or statements. In Vitsebsk, of all places. Now they’re hauling my parents in for interrogations,” Mikola Dziadok wrote on his Threads page.

Mikola Dziadok is a former journalist for the independent newspaper Novy Chas, a blogger, anarchist activist, and former political prisoner. On November 10, 2021, the Minsk City Court sentenced him to 5 years of imprisonment under politically motivated charges.

In May 2025, the Central District Court of Minsk designated his social media pages on VKontakte, Facebook, and Instagram as “extremist content,” and the website mikola.noblogs.org was also recognized as “extremist.”

On September 11, 2025, Mikola Dziadok was released as one of 52 Belarusian political prisoners who were forcibly relocated to Lithuania. After his release, he gave several interviews to independent media about detention conditions and continues his blogging activities.
