  • Dzmitry Pankavets was never the head of BAJ Ethics Commission. Belarusian Association of Journalists strongly condemns all domestic violence

The Belarusian Association of Journalists deems it necessary to comment on the public accusations of journalist Zmicier Pankavets’ involvement in domestic violence.

BAJ emphasizes that Zmicier Pankavets has never been the chairman of the BAJ Ethics Commission.

Zmicier Pankavets did not receive such an offer from the BAJ leadership. The members of the Commission are elected by the BAJ Congress, and the Chairman of the Commission is elected by the members of the Commission itself, as stated in the BAJ Charter.

In 2021, the BAJ Ethics Commission had to stop its work due to the legal liquidation of the organization.

The Belarusian Association of Journalists denounces all forms of domestic violence and supports a comprehensive investigation of the incidents that have been brought to light.
