    Brest journalist to stand trial for alleged collaboration with “extremist entity”

    The Prosecutor’s Office of the Brest Region has announced that it has referred a crim­i­nal case to court against a Brest res­i­dent under Part 3 of Arti­cle 361–1 of the Crim­i­nal Code (par­tic­i­pa­tion in an extrem­ist enti­ty).

    A meeting with Ksenia Lutskina will take place in Leipzig

    On June 12 in Leipzig, will be a meet­ing with Kseniya Lut­ski­na — a Belaru­sian jour­nal­ist who spent 4 years behind bars for cov­er­ing protests and expos­ing state pro­pa­gan­da. Arrest­ed sim­ply for doing her job, she is now free and will share her sto­ry first­hand.

    Belarus sentences exiled blogger Anton Matolka to 20 years in prison in absentia

    A Belaru­sian court has sen­tenced promi­nent exiled blog­ger Anton Matol­ka to 20 years in prison and a fine of approx­i­mate­ly €24,820 in absen­tia. The ver­dict was issued by the Hrod­na Region­al Court and announced by the Pros­e­cu­tor General’s Office on June 3. The deci­sion is not yet final and may be appealed.
