In Czechia, Belarusian lawyers backed the Marathon of Solidarity with Imprisoned Journalists

The Czech Repub­lic held a train­ing for lawyers from Belarus, which was orga­nized by the Coun­cil of Europe and the CEELI Insti­tute, a non-gov­ern­men­tal orga­ni­za­tion that pro­motes the rule of law. The event focused on oper­at­ing pro­ce­dures of work­ing with dis­crim­i­na­tion cas­es.

The experts, who face sig­nif­i­cant pro­fes­sion­al chal­lenges due to repres­sion in Belarus, sup­port­ed the Marathon of Sol­i­dar­i­ty with Impris­oned Jour­nal­ists by tak­ing pic­tures with por­traits of Belaru­sian media rep­re­sen­ta­tives behind bars.

Numer­ous orga­ni­za­tions and foun­da­tions from Ger­many, Swe­den, Fin­land, Den­mark, and oth­er coun­tries have joined the cam­paign. Many indi­vid­u­als like film­mak­er Ernie Bar­barash from the USA have also shown their sup­port.
