Horki.info website and social media labeled “extremist” by Belarusian authorities

On the evening of Feb­ru­ary 18, the Repub­li­can List of Extrem­ist Mate­ri­als was updat­ed on the web­site of the Min­istry of Infor­ma­tion.

The “extrem­ist” list now includes the Horki.info web­site and its social media pages.

Accord­ing to a rul­ing by the Lenin­s­ki Dis­trict Court of Mahilou, the region­al news web­site Horki.info and its affil­i­at­ed social media pages have been des­ig­nat­ed as “extrem­ist infor­ma­tion prod­ucts”.

Horki.info had been oper­at­ing for about 15 years, cov­er­ing exclu­sive­ly non-polit­i­cal news, report­ing on events in the Hor­ki, Dry­bin, and Mst­sis­lau dis­tricts of the Mahil­iou region. Since last night, the web­site has been inac­ces­si­ble.
