    In the spring, Vadz­im Dounar was trans­ferred from Ukraine to Poland, where he hoped to receive a trans­plant. Then the jour­nal­is­tic com­mu­ni­ty raised the nec­es­sary funds for Vadz­im’s care.

    Vadz­im Dounar is a Belaru­sian jour­nal­ist who ded­i­cat­ed his life to cov­er­ing impor­tant events. Vadz­im worked for Belorusskaya Delo­vaya Gaze­ta, Belorusskaya Gaze­ta, Radio Racy­ja, Ukrain­ian TV chan­nel ATR and par­tic­i­pat­ed in the block­ade of Crimea on Chon­har check­point. In recent years Vadz­im lived in Kyiv.
