“Many European journalistic organizations participate in the same demonstration of support. Including Lithuanians and Swedes,” says the international affairs specialist of the Union of Journalists of Finland Salla Nazarenko.

There are 33 journalists behind bars in Belarus.

The series of solidarity actions for Belarusian media workers in captivity started in Vilnius on May 3 with a joint action of BAJ and the Lithuanian Union of Journalists. Then BAJ partners from journalistic organizations around the world joined it.

BAJ calls on colleagues around the world to support the solidarity action!

You can print portraits of your imprisoned colleagues, take pictures with them at famous sights of your city (not in Belarus) and post them on social media with the tags #СвабодуЖурналістам and #BecauseTheJournalist, and also send them to us office@baj.media or intercomm@baj.media.
