Dear journalists and media workers of world media, We, the National Journalists Union of Ukraine, would like to thank you for the support of Ukraine, which we feel in times of Russian invasion into our country.

The case against journalists Andrei Aliaksandrau and Iryna Zlobina, as well as BelaPAN editor-in-chief and director Iryna Leushyna and former agency director Dzmitry Navazhylau, has been sent to court by the Minsk Prosecutor’s Office.

The PRNEWS.IO team came up with an initiative to support the Ukrainian media. The platform offers businesses to buy appearances in Ukrainian media using their catalog. To support the work of editorial offices during the war, the service has canceled fees for all media outlets owned by Ukrainian publishers.

In less than three weeks since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of our country, there are already Ukrainian and international journalists killed and injured in Ukraine.

The European Federation of Journalists (EFJ) joined its partners today in calling on the Member States of the European Union to set a global example of support for media freedom in crisis by extending emergency shelter and visa waivers to Russian journalists fleeing the country, as well as Belarusian journalists seeking refuge from war and repression.

The verdict was announced today by the judge of the Minsk Zavodski District Court Anzhela Kastsiukevich. Prosecutor Mikalai Dziatsel requested the same punishment yesterday.

Belarus authorities should reverse their recent designations of German public broadcaster Deutsche Welle (DW), local independent news site Regiyanalnaya Gazeta, and three videos by Russian blogger Yuriy Dud as “extremist”; release journalist Aleh Hruzdzilovich, a former correspondent with U.S. Congress-funded broadcaster Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty’s Belarusian service known locally as Radio Svaboda; and allow all journalists and news outlets to work freely, the Committee to Protect Journalists said Friday.

We, Belarusian activists and civil society organizations, united within the Belarusian National Platform of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum, condemn the military invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine. Ukrainians heroically resist aggression and do everything possible to protect their citizens and the country.

Aleh Hruzdzilovich was first arrested on 16 July 2021, during the raid search of the RFE/RL Minsk office. He was detained for ten days back then. On 23 December 2021, he was detained again under a criminal case.
