BORN EARLY

Ivan was born 15 weeks ahead of term, weigh­ing only 800 grams.

He made his first steps at the age of one year and nine months, dur­ing his last mas­sage ses­sion.

Now Vanya is three years old and nine months. He does yoga and dances. He rides hors­es with plea­sure. He likes Lego con­struc­tors.

He molds shapes from mod­el­ing clay and tells sto­ries about Pep­pa Pig.  And he is very glad to com­mu­ni­cate with oth­er kids.

The boy’s moth­er is putting efforts now in cre­at­ing the nation­al pub­lic asso­ci­a­tion of par­ents of pre­ma­ture­ly born babies. She hopes that phys­i­cal and social reha­bil­i­ta­tion of such babies in Belarus will soon rise to a new lev­el.

Every year, around 5000 babies are born ahead of term in the coun­try, 150 of them weigh less than 1000 grams.
